After a long seeming battle of the titans, the Gambia’s former leader, Yahya Jammeh, has flown out of the country after stepping down from power.
Recalling, “Mr Jammeh had refused to step down after he lost an election to President Adama Barrow, but bowed to pressure from the West African military that had entered Gambia to force him to recognise the election outcome”.
Our News source gathered that he travelled to the airport in the capital Banjul with mediator Alpha Conde, the president of Guinea, and is expected to now head into exile.
It was further revealed that he will travel to Guinea, before transferring on to another as yet unknown country.
Thus, an end to his 22 years of seeming tyrannical leadership to the people of Gambia.
