All fruits are products of viable seeds. Until a seed is sown, fruits are not guaranteed. Life is a function of seeds and fruits. Business is a part of life. Thus, no business thrives outside seeds (Ideas).

Ideas are the real wealth of life. Those who lack ideas end up as nobodies on earth. Money is not the cure to poverty; transformative ideas and consequent application of these ideas beneficially are the real cure to poverty.

Yesterday, we talked about, “Secrets Of Business Breakthrough”-A Review, which was an excerpt of one of my latest e-books (Note: This e-book is also Available NOW for download via e-mail, to get a copy, WASSAP through our corporate Phone Number: +2349073308104 or e-mail: alanaijaestore@gmail.com)

Business is an ideation tool. Without ideas, there will be no business. Lack of ideas means “No business”.

Andrew Carnegie supported this statement when he posited that all achievements, all earned riches, have their beginning in an idea.

After reading the works of Christian Richman, in his book, “20 Ways Of Making Millions From The Scratch”, the Holy Spirit laid it to my heart to share the light contacted here.

Many people erroneously believe that it takes money to make money. It only takes great ideas to make money.

First of all, you need to know what you want, have a plan, stick to it and then use money to back up your idea.

There are stories of many people who have been able to bring out an idea and build it into a winning business and who became rich in the process.

Many people are only copycats. They wait for people to bring out ideas and then rush to copy…learn how to raise business ideas.

Development of business ideas is unarguably one of the critical things in business especially for young entrepreneurs. It is important that you know and find out sources of ideas.

What Then Are The Sources Of Business Ideas?

First of all, the most common sources of business ideas are from printed materials which include books, Newspapers, magazines, and Journals etc. This is a great source of ideas.

However, business, business-related, success and motivational literature are the most likely sources of business ideas.

Ransacking your brain all day may not produce any tangible results as it concerns business ideas.

What has worked for me and many more are business ideas that have been developed and formulated as a result of coming in contact with certain information in books, newspapers and magazines and other media.

You can fine tune the ideas you saw or create entirely new ideas as a result.

Another source of business ideas is our special needs. Many successful businessmen actually developed business ideas and their business as a result of their needs. Many of us had at one time or the other needed a thing, service and product but did not find one that suited what we needed. Listen to the story of “Two People Who Spotted Ideas”:

Karen Smiley was a farmer who could not find comfortable gloves that fit her hands and lasted through the tough work. She came to the conclusion that glove manufacturers were only producing gloves for men. So due to her peculiar need as a woman she set up a firm called, ‘Woman Work’ that manufactures gloves for women. Today, her firm manufactures women’s gloves for construction companies all over the world.

David Marchaschi as a college student had trouble staying awake to study. He hated the taste of coffee and soda, so he looked for a drink with coffee, but with no offensive taste. He could not find one, so he invented “Water Joe” bottled water loaded with caffeine. In 1996, Water Joe earned $12, 000, 000 in sales.

These two wonderful stories teach us that we can generate entrepreneurial ideas from our peculiar and special needs.

Graham Bell invented the telephone while trying to design a hearing device for his wife that was hard of hearing.

Other Sources Of Ideas

Another source of ideas is the need of the society. Remember, ‘Necessity is the mother of all inventions.” Sometimes, in trying to churn out business ideas, we have to continually ask ourselves what we think the needs of the society are. It is this need identified in the society that we seek to satisfy and that is what ultimately leads to business ideas.

Human Needs and Business Ideas

Generating business ideas is both complex and simple. If you know the rules and play by them, you will not run into problems.

According to Marslow, once a need is satisfied, it loses its importance as a motivator. It is important that we seek to find out what may motivate a particular target market to part with their money to buy what we wish to offer them. If a man succeeds in getting the kind of job he is looking for, one thing else that may motivate him will be job security or financial security.

The Basic Human Needs

The basic and primary human needs are listed below:

Food

Love and sex

Water

Shelter and protection

Money

Health and Hygiene

Sleep

The Secondary Needs

The secondary needs are: time, status, stability, relaxation, security, self-esteem, power, privacy, leisure, knowledge, information, independence, freedom, friendship, fitness, education, control, challenge, beauty, adventure, and acknowledgement.

It is obvious that that people will first of all work hard to have their basic needs met. So many opportunities exist for people who want to solve the primary needs of man though we need to be extremely careful when we venture into these.

However, there are some needs that are insatiable and they continue to be needed by all. These include: Money, Shelter, Sex and other related.

You can make money satisfying both primary and secondary needs; if you do the right things. However, don’t be fooled that the best place to make money is in solving primary needs.

Most millionaires today are those who are satisfying secondary needs. Remember, these are the people that have the money to pay for your products and services.
